GAPC speakers announced

The first plenary speakers for GAPC 2026 have been announced. These are: 

  • Kristen Maynard is proudly Māori from Aotearoa New Zealand. She will be speaking in the plenary: Commercial Determinants of Inequity on "Power, privilege and the ‘colonising taking’ – key policy considerations for addressing alcohol harm and inequity".
  • Pia Mäkelä is a Research Professor at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. She will be speaking in the plenary: Commercial Determinants of Inequity on "The success of alcohol policy in reducing socio economic inequities in health". 
  • Kashish Aneja is a Delhi-based lawyer specializing in global health law, policy, and governance, and consults for and leads initiatives in Asia at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University. He will be speaking in the plenary: Regulating marketing of alcohol on "Driven Alcohol Marketing Regulation: Addressing Algorithmic Targeting and Age-Verification Challenges in Digital Policy Frameworks".
